On December 21, 2020, an additional $250 million was allocated to the COVID-19 Telehealth Program as part of the CARES Act, which was enacted to help health care providers offer connected care services to patients at their homes or mobile locations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This funding and legislation have enabled the successful implementation of thousands of new telehealth programs across the nation, allowing better access to care for millions of patients.
