Ruth Ann Arber, RD, CSA

Senior Territory Manager at Connect America

What is Connected Health?

This quarter, in our Employee Spotlight, we interviewed Ruth Ann Arber, Senior Territory Manager at Connect America. Learn more about Ruth Ann’s role and what she likes most about working at Connect America in our spotlight interview below.

Background & Journey

I’ve been in the Medical Alert industry for 26 years, but my connection to it started long before that. Growing up in Ohio, my mom was a Lifeline coordinator, and I would tag along on set-ups. Even as a kid, I saw how much these services meant to older adults and their families.

My career began as a Registered Dietitian at a VA Nursing Home, followed by roles in Acute Care working with WWII veterans. Seeing seniors face medical emergencies without support fueled my passion for using technology to keep older adults safe and independent at home.

Role at Connect America

What I love most is building relationships with those who refer clients to us and knowing our work truly makes a difference. I even do set-ups myself from time to time—nothing beats seeing the positive impact these services make firsthand.

Passion Outside Work

I have a soft spot for rescue dogs and volunteer with MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue. I’ve also adopted three pups of my own (two seniors, of course!). Giving back is important to me, which is why I also support Project Angel Heart, a nonprofit that provides medically tailored meals to those in need.

Fun Fact

Being from Ohio, I’m a die-hard Ohio State football fan. People always assume I’m from Michigan because of my name, Ruth “Ann Arber,” but I just laugh and say, “Nope—even funnier, I’m from Ohio!” Buckeye pride runs deep!

Favorite Movie

Under the Tuscan Sun—and yes, I’d absolutely love to buy a villa in Italy someday.

Dream Travel Destination

Antarctica—I love Penguins and think it would be incredible to see them in their natural habitat.
